Job description

Managing Director 
Our client, a commercial real-estate firm in Berlin, are seeking a Managing Director to provide strategic and operational leadership and management for the group and it’s core team, driving value enhancement projects, financial optimisation, and asset realisation across the company’s portfolio upon maturity of enhancement.

Key Responsibilities 
  • Oversee the completion of property improvement and value-add initiatives across all properties
  • Supervise the CFO who will lead refinancing efforts for properties requiring renewed financing, maintaining strong relations with financial institutions to secure favourable terms including opening new financing channels
  • Continuously assess the portfolio’s debt structure and propose refinancing strategies to enhance cash flow and financial stability
  • Develop and execute strategies for the sale or realisation of company assets, aiming to maximise proceeds to investors
  • Prepare comprehensive annual business plans
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a small team of professionals across portfolio management, operations, and finance.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships as well as ensuring full transparency and compliance with regulatory and stakeholder requirements
  • Act as the primary liaison with tenants, overseeing lease negotiations, prolongation,  and occupancy issues
  • Identify potential risks across the portfolio, implementing proactive measures to mitigate them

Essential Skills & Experience 
  • Minimum of 5 years of executive-level experience in German commercial real estate, corporate real estate or asset management with a proven track record of enhancing asset value , financing properties, realisation of properties and managing diverse portfolios.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a history of building, developing, and guiding high-performance real estate teams.
  • Ability to create and implement strategic plans that align with the company’s mission, operational capacity, and financial objectives.
  • Proficient in financial analysis, budget management, and risk assessment, with experience in reporting to a board of directors and all level investors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex relationships with tenants, financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Fluency in German and English, Hebrew is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to run business operations including all aspects: financial, technical, statutory, team etc..
